....too bad Lucy's in a craptastic mood. She is happy overall, she is just temper tantrum lady today! Well, we've started using time out in conjunction with spankings, and it is already helping! It's only taking about 1-2 minutes (as it should) to calm her down when she sits in the corner. So we'll see. Maybe she gets overwhelmed and the time out makes her feel better too?
So remember the Solvang trip I told you about? Well it was going to be Thurs to Sun. Mikey asked for Thurs off school and they said "ok that's fine, but you will be here on Friday, right?" and he asked why... Mandatory teacher training. BARF. So, we had to change it. It is now a trip to Big Bear on Sat to Tues, which is still great! I have been to Big Bear and I really liked it, but I was looking forward to a new place. But, I still think it's going to be incredibly relaxing and good for us. PLUS, it's half as many points for the same size room, AND there's no taxes or fees! WOOHOO!
One thing I forgot to mention yesterday was our Christmaween Party! I am really excited about it. So far only 6 people are coming, but they're awesome 6 people, so it's cool. ;) Usually we have a party in Mid-October called the "Christmas Announcement Party". This party signifies the start of the Christmas season for all of the Christmas fanatics we know and love. Sometimes it's at our house, sometimes other people's. This year we were unable to throw it any sooner than Mid-November, and since Halloween is coming so quickly, we decided to combine the two and make a Christmaween party. It's going to be awesome!
And now I have a question for you. Last week two new friends and I were supposed to go have coffee and get pedicures together. One girl got sick, so we had to cancel. Last night, I saw both girls and their newly pedicured feet and found out they had gone together yesterday to get the pedis done, without me. Since I am still figuring out friendships and social dynamics, I figured I should check in with some established friends and see what you all think. I don't want to be offended, but I am definitely bummed out because I really like them and want to get to know them.
What do you think about this?

Does she obey you when you put her in time out? Or is it a struggle to get her actually go sit down in the corner? Are you physically putting her there or does she do it on her own when you tell her to go? I think she does get overwhelmed at times and she's in the stage of trying to learn how to deal with that. Perhaps this new treatment will help her. Patience will help as it probably won't be a quick phase.
Sucks that you can't go to Solvang but it worked out anyway. Plus you still have Solvang to look forward to in the future. But yeah, thanks a lot Fake Venture.
More people will go... they are just lame on committing but that's a whole 'nother issue. But it always turns out that a lot of people show because they know how awesome your parties are. w00t
Two new friends... are they good friends already? From your perspective, yeah, that was pretty odd that they would go without you. Do you think you would be able to ask them about it without making it awkward? Bottom line is this: if you think they are worth becoming good friends with you then you need to establish that you were looking forward to going with them and were confused when they ended up going without you. If they get offended then better to find out how they are now than to have this happen again when you think you've grown closer.
Yeah she is all upset but goes willingly and sits there staring at the wall, crying for a minute and then turns around and is happy. it's funny to watch.

Well, hopefuly they do. I need an RSVP for food purposes, so I will have to hound them as it gets closer. lol
we're in a small group together. our "friendship" is literally a month old.Anything that seems like it could start by me saying "I don't want to make this awkward, but..." will be awkward. hahah
Haha. Everything Lucy does is awesome. I have no idea where she gets it from.
Remember to check the weather reports. If there is *any* chance of rain or snow, bring/buy a chain for your tires. Big Bear is gorgeous when it snows, but it's obviously also cold and crowded. But you *need* to experience it when it's snowing. Plus there's a big jacuzzi you can use.
Did you send another FB message to everyone? Also, you need to update it with things like white elephant, are we dressing up, what to bring, etc.
Well if they did it once they can do it again. Better to be awkward now then truly hurtful later, you know?
