That is how long I have before I begin my maternity leave, and I don't know how I am going to make it! I am so tired/uncomfortable sitting in my chair up here at the beloved front desk. I can't breathe, my back hurts, I can't stay awake... ARGH!
Add to that the fact that I have advance notice of my future unemployment, and I am useless.
I found out today that not only are we being laid off Sept. 30 in favor of a new nationwide contract, the new contract doesn't include a provision for Admin Support, which is what I do. So even if I WANTED to come back, I couldn't. There will be an admin support contract coming about sometime in the future, but no one could guarantee when or what it will be.
The other employees here are pretty much guaranteed to get hired by whoever the new contractor is because they're already in place in the office and the learning curve is too huge for new employees to be able to make a seamless transition. But me? Nope! My boss basically said "Well, when you want to come back, give me a call and I'll let you know how stuff looks here." That's promising. heh.
So, that said...I am NOT MOTIVATED TO WORK! I am supposed to complete a project by the time I start my leave and I really have no incentive to do so! So this is hard for me.
Is back pain a good enough reason to get signed out onto disability early? No, probably not. So I guess i need to suck it up and try to get my work done. I suppose the good reference is an important asset for future employment endeavors, should I decide to go back to work... right?
Huff.
So..... This blog is useless information. Thank you for spending your time reading it anyway! haha!

I never knew you worked at the "front desk." Now I can't help but picture you as Pam when I think of you at work. Does your boss create awkward and tense moments? Do you stare at a really cute guy named Jim all day? And can you introduce me, seeing as how you're married and prego, and have no room for a Jim?
Hahaha... I'm totally Pam. There is a cute guy but he's in the back of the office. He walks by me though. hehe :)
You are so funny
I seem to remember a really cute guy with a good personality. I liked it when he walked by :p I'm sorry that you have to deal with the contract end, but I'm soooo very happy that you won't have that worry in 3 1/2 weeks!!
You know, a month before Taye was born, Jen went to her doctor and said, "Work stresses me out". So he said, "You're going on bedrest. Effective immediately." He also gave her a note, to affirm his decision to her employer.
And would you believe her stress level dropped?
Yeah but I can live through the next 3 weeks. :) plus we need the money! hehe
And oh yes Mellie... I LOVE it when Mr. Handsome walks by!
You must have mistakened him for me.
Cuz "mistakened" is DEFINITELY a real word. hehe
